基于语料库的专门用途英语教学新探——以外贸函电翻译教学为例

Corpus-based ESP Teaching——From the Perspective of Business Correspondence Translation

本文从前人成果中汲取学养,立足于外贸函电翻译教学,探讨语料库与专门用途英语相结合的理论依据以及现实需要,指出弗斯和新弗斯语言理论以及海姆斯的交际能力概念为二者结合奠定了理论基础,教学改革的要求进一步促进了二者的结合。语料库翻译教学这一新途径必将为专门用途英语教学带来更广阔的发展前景。

Based on previous achievements, and by means of corpus - based methodologies, this paper studies theoretical foun- dations for the combination of corpus and English for specific purposes. The theory Firth and Neo - Firth Linguistics ＆ D. Hymes＇ notion of Communicative Competence provides theoretical basis for their combination and the reform requirements also promote their combination. In this research, translation of business correspondence is focused on to present a broad prospect of the corpus -based translation studies in the ESP teaching.
