西部少数民族地区工科院校专业英语教学过程中的几点思考——以资源勘查工程专业为例

基于西部少数民族地区工科院校实际情况,以资源勘查工程专业为例,系统总结了在专业英语教学过程中出现的主要问题,如课程时间设置不合理、教学目的不明确、教学方法过于简单等。针对这些问题,笔者结合自身教学经验,提出合理设置教学时间、积极利用多媒体和网络资源、采用小班化教学方式、把专业英语渗透到所有专业课程中等几点建议,以切实提高学生专业英语水平。

This paper systematically summarizes the main problem which appears in the specialized English teaching process, based on the facts of engineering colleges and schools in western minority-residential area and the exemplification of English teaching activity in the major of resource prospecting engineering. According to problems, such as the inapplicable course arrangement, the vagueness of teaching goal, the overly-simplification of teaching methods, etc., this thesis provides following suggestions： to optimize the time-setting, to utilize multi- media and internet resources, to minimize students number in a class, and to combine English teaching with the teaching of other courses. These methods would improve students＇ familiarity with Engineering-related English phrases.
