Science Covered with Human Studies——The culture outlook of modern Neo-Confucianism and its bias

本文对现代新儒家的文化观做了批判性的考察和分析 ,认为现代新儒家的文化观有两个显著的特征 :一是反科学主义 ;二是泛道德主义。其偏颇之处在于 :一方面 ,把科学狭隘地理解为“实证主义”和“功利主义” ;另一方面 ,又将人文精神片面地归结为儒家的“道德精神” ,并强调以人文涵盖科学 ,其结果是人为地加剧了所谓的科学 (事实 )世界和人文 (价值 )

The culture outlook of modern Neo-Confucianism is critically discussed in this paper and analysed. The author holds that the culture outlook has two notable features: one is anti-scientism; the other is pan-moralism. Its bias lies in: on the one hand, science is narrowly understood as “positivism” and “utilitarianism” ; on the other hand, humanistic spirit is unilaterally equated with “moral spirit” of Confacianism. As a result, when modern Neo-Confucians emphasize” fhat “ science should be covered with humane studies”, the separation and opposition between science and, humane studies are greatly sharpened.
