湖北广水四顾台遗址发掘简报

A Preliminary Excavation Report on the Sigutai Site in Guangshui City, Hubei Province

四顾台遗址位于湖北省广水市杨寨镇刘家畈村三组四顾台小学内(该小学已废弃),2006年6～7月为配合京广铁路改线工程,湖北省文物考古研究所对四顾台遗址进行了勘探和发掘,发掘面积50平方米。遗址主要为新石器时代和西周遗存,遗迹主要为灰坑,出土器物主要为陶器。新石器时代遗存年代大约相当于屈家岭向石家河过渡阶段。西周遗存包含了西周早、中、晚各期文化,明显具有鄂东西周文化的特征。本次发掘面积虽不大,但所获新石器时代和西周的资料,对深入了解鄂东北地区的新石器时代文化和西周文化均具有重要意义。

This site is located in the Sigutai Primary School （abandoned at present）, Group 3 of Liujiaban Village, Yangzhai Township, Guangshui City. The excavation exposes 50 square meters, carried out by Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology from June to July in 2006, in cooperation with the construction of the Beijing-to-Guangzhou Railway Line Changing Project. The primary artifacts from the site are pottery wareas recovered from ash pits, dating to a transitional time from Qujialing Culture to Shijiahe Culture in Neolithic as well as Western Zhou period including remains from early, middle and late Western Zhou cultures which illustrates some regional characteristic of Eastern Hubei. Although the excavation area is quite limited, the materials recovered are important in studying related cultures in northeastern Hubei province.
