In his late years, Engels had many unique views on social development, which were the crystallization of his life thinking about social development theory. In Engels＇ time, the capitalist society underwent dramatic changes. Engels keenly observed the emergence of monopolies and the rise of the stock company a new phenomenon of capitalism, changes in the social and historical conditions, and corresponding changes in the activities of the proletariat and its party. In order to adapt the new changing situation in the international struggle, Engels had a flexible adjustment of the taetics of the proletarian struggle. Instead of giving up the belief in communism, Engels continued to uphold and develop Marxism doctrine, and enrich and develop the understanding of scientific socialism in the new historical conditions.
