Paul Auster （1947--） is regarded as one of the best American Jewish writers of the age. His writings have drawn much scholarly attention, and brought a wide range of critical comments among literary scholars and critics from abroad and at home. In his eventful life, Jewish traditional culture and French space theory combine together and shape his literary writing.
