This article is an overview of the 2012 Young Scholars Seminar held by Journal of China industrial Economics ＆ Forum on deepening the reform and opening up and development of China＇s industrial economy. The papers submitted by the young scholars involving industrialization and optimization of industrial structure adjustment, the development of strategic emerging industries, innovation and competitiveness of industrial enterprises, the development of industrial enterprises in the context of institutional transformation, management ideas and methods in industrialization, etc. The article reflects the latest theory and the practice exploration of the young scholars engages in the area of industrialization and development of emerging industries and innovation in industrial enterprises in the context of deepening reform and opening up.
