An Improved Model of Input Buffer at ATM Switching Unit

摘要 改进的输入缓冲方案是在 ATM交换单元的输入队列和仲裁逻辑之间加入一个准随机存储器 .这个准随机存储器的作用是在保证去往同一出线的信元次序不变的条件下 ,信元可以随机争取出线 .作者计算了该方案的最大吞吐率、队列长度、信元丢失率、平均时延 ,并与三种典型的缓冲方案进行了比较 。 The improved model of input buffer presented is to insert a quasi random memory between input queue and arbitration logic at ATM switching unit. The cells in quasi random memories can randomly complete and be transmit, provided that the sequence of these cells going to same output route in same quasi random memory is not changed. The maximum throughput, the queue size, the cell lost probability and the mean time delay of the improved model is calculated. By comparisons between the improved model and three kinds of typical model, the advantages of the improved model is discussed.
