The public libraries in the United States represent the pinnacle of the development of the li- braries in the world, which possess unique development concept, management mode and service mode. The causes of the development of library undertaking in the United States mainly include four aspects, i.e. mature legal protection, standardized industry management organization, strong support from all sectors of society and professional management and service. The experience of the develop- ment of public libraries in the United States is also referential to the development of public libraries in China.
