主要介绍新灾变论产生的历史背景、主要观点以及对地学产生的巨大影响,包括:灾变论——均变论——新灾变论的产生、发展的过程;几种比较流行的新灾变假说;在新灾变论思潮的猛烈冲击下事件地层学、灾变成矿论、天文地质学等新学科、新理论的兴起与发展状况。
This text principally introduces the historical background of Neocatastrophism＇ s coming into being, the main point of view and the tremendous influence generating to geoscienee. The text has been divided into three sections. The first section briefly introduces the process of emerging and developing about catastrophism - uniformitarianism - neo- catastrophism. The second section mainly discusses the several kinds of popular hypothesis about neocatastrophism. The third section importantly introduces conditions of growing up and developing in new branches of learning or new theories a- bout Eventstratigraphy, Reckoning Metallogenic Theory and Geology of Astronomy when neocatastrophism＇ s trend of thought strikes strongly.
