Successful performance of Chinese folk sports on the opening ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympic games offered an excellent opportunity for china to communicate its folk sports. Based on the analysis of difficulties of developing the dominant events of Chinese folk sports and the necessity of its internationalization, development strategies to internationalize Chinese folk sports were put forward.
