A total of 40 anaesthetized mogerl dogs weighing 15—25kg, were wounded in the medial part of one thigh. The weapon was the FNG ride gun and the projectile was SS109 with an impact velocity of approximately 915M/s. The immediate pressure-wave and pathological changes of artery subjected to high-velocaty missiles were observed immediately, 24h, 72h, 3d and 7ds after wounding. The main results are as follows: 1. The nearer the distance from the wound to the local atery, the greater the intensity of the pressure is 2. High-velocity missile can damage blood vessels even if does not hit them directly. The damage to the local artery caused by pressure-wave and the formation of temporary cavity appear to be not very severe and need no special treatment.
