The Civilization Interaction between West Qiang And Ancient Population in Tibetan Plateau

青藏高原古代族群的文明互动和羌人紧密相关,史籍中留下对羌人的文字记载的,主要是汉文和藏文的资料,还有彝文和纳西东巴文。汉文古籍说,"羌"是汉族人对西方牧羊人的称呼,是他称而不是自称,而且其读音与汉文的"羊"相近。藏文古籍记载藏族先民的姓氏,实际上即是青藏高原古代族群的名称。本文认为,"羌"的古音应该与藏文古籍记载的古姓氏"噶lga"氏相同,文章将汉藏古籍的记载结合起来,对西羌的历史做出了一些新的探讨。

The civilization interaction of ancient population in Tibetan Plateau is closely related to Qiang people. The historical texts of Qiang were mainly written in Chinese, Tibetan, Y writying, Haxi writing and Dongba Writing. According to Chinese ancient records, ＂Qiang＂ was an appellation of shepherds living in West. It was an appellation called by others, not by themselves. And ＂Qiang＂ was pronounced similarly to ＂Yang＂ which means sheep in Chi nese. The surname of Tibetan ancestors, which recorded in Tibetan ancient texts, actually was the name of ancient population who lived in Tibetan Plateau. The author thinks that the ancient pronunciation of ＂Qiang＂ should be called as ＂lga＂, an ancient last name recorded in Tibetan texts. By combining the Chinese historical texts with Ti- betan＇ s we made some new explorations on West Qiang＇ s history.
