Objective To explore the changes of resting-state default-mode network functional connectivity in the patients with unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL). Methods The [MRI scanning in resting-state was performed in 16 severe left side SSNHL patients(group A) and 16 healthy volunteers with normal hearing(group B). The default-mode network based on seed region of posterior cingulated cortex was extracted from low frequency fluctuation signal in fMRI data using a temporal correlation method and compared between two groups. Results Compared with group B, the brain area with increased functional connectivity in group A was the right middle occipital gyrus, while the brain area with decreased functional connectivity was the right middle frontal gyrus. Conclusion The abnormal funtional connectivity of brain defanlt mode network happens to the SSNHL patients in resting state.
