西部电影曾经是中国电影艺术化探索的主力军,也创造过走向世界的辉煌,但是新世纪以来西部电影逐渐衰落。西部电影如何重新崛起与振兴?需要从传统的地域范畴与类型范畴,乃至上升到"生态文明"这样一个艺术美学高度和意识形态高度,将生态电影作为其振兴发展的新内涵与新使命,致力于推动生态文明的建设,传播生态文明的思想,培育生态文化,打造健康有益的中国生态电影文化特色。

The western films used to be the main force of Chinese film exploration and they also brought a lot ot in-ternational fame. To revitalize the western films calls for consideration of the traditional regional concept, type of category and raising the ecological civilization to a new height to connect the demand of the era, industry needs, the public demand.
