Limitations of Cao Xucqln＇ s concept of females mainly manifests itself in the following three aspects ： the negation in women＇ s recognition of their own value, the restraints on the pursuit of free love set by feu- dal ethical code, and the contradiction of his sympathy for slave girls in a system of the master and slave.
