长久以来,关于我国古典名著《红楼梦》中的大观园原型问题,有言南京旧时随园或明故宫者,有言北京恭王府者,诸说不一。但是,若将大观园的原型,放在明末清初一代文学大家顾景星的家乡、大明皇家园林的荆藩苑囿所在地的蕲州城,则一切真相大白。这主要是因为书中对于大观园的描述,其地理特征、园林面积,亭台楼阁等布局,乃至水源流向等,均与建造在长江边一座岛屿之上的荆藩苑囿为首的建筑群极相吻合。作品与作者的生活有其必然的联系。可以推断,大观园应该是顾景星根据其家乡蕲州荆藩苑囿为首的建筑群,及其顾家松园作为主体原型进行创作的。

People have held different views on the prototype of the Grand View Garden in the Chinese classical masterpiece ＂A Dream of Red Mansions＂ for a long time. Some think it was the old Suiyuan Garden in Nanjing, some think the Forbidden City of Ming Dynasty in Nanjing, and some think the Prince Gong＇s Mansion in Beijing. However, if the prototype of the Grand View Garden is put in the hometown of Gu Jingxing, one of the greatest writers in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties--the ancient city of Qizhou, where the vassal state of Jing of the Great Ming Imperial Garden was, everything will be clear. This is mainly because the descriptions for the Grand View Garden in the book, including the garden＇s geographical features, area of the garden, layout of its pavilions, and even the water flow, is very consistent with the architectural complex led by the vassal state of Jing above an island by the Yangtze River. Works are necessarily linked with their writers＇ life. It can be inferred that the Grand View Garden was created by Gu Jingxing, who chose the architectural complex led by the vassal state of Jing and the Pine Garden of Gu＇s family as the main orototyoe.
