摘要
作为小说中最深的内嵌话语,对话往往被认为具备使叙事更为逼真、自然,能较好地刻画人物(个体或群体)形象,增强文体或艺术效果等功能。此时,作者已隐退,而将话语权交给了小说中的人物。通过对《都柏林人》中的对话分析表明,对话不仅仅体现了小说中参与对话的人物之间的关系,而且是作者与读者之间及社会各成员之间(多重声音)的交流,具有互动的和态度的人际意义。这就从另外一个角度,即人际意义的角度探讨了常用于构成小说对话的直接和自由直接这两种引语的功能。
As the most deeply embedded discourse,dialogue has been considered as a way of verisimilitude,characterization(both individual and collective) and realization of stylistic and artistic effects.Using dialogue,the author makes the reader refer to the world of the characters.The analysis of the dialogue between some characters in Dubliners reveals,however,that not only the interpersonal relationships between the characters can be achieved,dialogue has the function of maintaining the communication between the author and the reader and even that among all the social members concerned,having both the interactive and attitudinal interpersonal meaning.Therefore,the interpersonal meaning of direct and free direct speech is discussed in another perspective.
