Being an evaluating standard of safety in power grid, (n-1)-criterion has received universal recognition.Especially in power grid of Western Europe, remarkable success has been achieved due to the common importance attached and its widespread application. This paper presents how to use (n-1)-criterion in German Power Grid, which is regarded as one of useful references for China's engineers engaged in power grid planing and operation.
