The Literary Supplement of Ta Kung Pao started in the 1920s has a strong purpose and targets at British literature. In literature it is inclined to classicism; in morality it focuses on the conventional values; in the theory of human nature it emphasizes the balance of sense and sensibility; in art, it contends that poetry and fine arts are different and therefore their evaluation criteria greatly differentiate.
