树轮年代学近年来取得了长足的进展,国内不同地区开展了大量的树轮气候重建.树轮低频信号的提取一直是树轮气候学面临的重要问题,RCS去趋势方法由于不受样本长度的限制,被大量运用于树轮去趋势处理过程中以保存气候变化的低频趋势.然而近年的研究又发现该方法存在一些固有问题,在运用该方法时需要特别注意.零信号去趋势方法被证明能有效地缓解一些树轮去趋势方法存在的固有问题.

A number of tree-ring based climate reconstructions have been published recently, highlighting the necessity of reviewing some general methods used in dendrochronology. Due to the segment length curse, tree- ring researchers are restricted to extraction of low-frequency climate signals from tree rings. The regional curve standardization （RCS） method has been widely used recently because of its special ability in retaining the low- frequency climate variability. However, recent studies have also advised cautions on the use of this method as it may lead to biased climate signals. It is here suggested that the ＂signal-free＂ standardization methods be used since they have been documented to alleviate the shortcomings of the RCS method.
