清末民初的新剧转型可从《小说月报》的翻译新剧中窥豹一斑。在演剧实践繁荣、翻译剧本匮乏的时代里,《小说月报》的翻译新剧一枝独秀。译剧在题材、艺术技巧、表现手段等方面的特点,译者们对剧本文学性和戏剧言语的重视、对戏剧理论的自发探讨,以及翻译新剧呈现出的小说戏剧同构、著译混淆的状况真实地反映了清末民初戏剧转型的特征。
