学校学科课程含教学性和教育性双重目标,而教育性目标更为上位且具学科特性,当今的语言课程比以往更加强调教育性目标。后现代主义社会批判理论关于学校教育与语言现象的透视对普通教育与语言教育培养学生作为教育性核心目标的批判性思维能力提供了理论支撑,而语言教育领域的语言意识运动从一般性语言意识到批判性语言意识的进阶则强化了语言课程批判性语言意识的培养理念。在英语作为国际语的时代背景下,批判性语言意识培养对于提升英语教育水平至关重要,更是英语教育应对全球化进程中西方社会政治、思想、文化霸权渗透的当务之急。批判性语言意识培养体现了文化全球化境域中学校英语课程独特的批判性教育价值诉求。

Courses and programs in the university are aimed at both instructional and educational objectives,with the latter being the predominant one.Nowadays,the educational objectives of language programs have received a great deal of attention.Postmodern critical theory,as the theoretical foundation of critical applied linguistics,highlights the educational objectives of language programs.Language Awareness movement,which has undergone the transition from focusing on 'general language awareness(GLA)' to 'critical language awareness(CLA)',also calls attention to the vital importance of raising students' critical language awareness.Today with so many cultures speaking English as a lingua franca,raising students' CLA is not only the key to truly effective English language teaching,but also a vital counterbalance to the political,ideological and cultural hegemony of the West in the process of globalization.
