It is possible to estimate how the internal standard technique affects the precision of a chr-omatographic method in pharmaceutical analysis by use of the law of propagation of error. Theuse of this method is demonstrated with 5 practical examples. Conditions are provided for thepropen internal standard in the analysis of drugs including material, preparation, and biologicalspecimen. This paper may show that the internal standard technique not only has adventagesbut also limits.
