Carbon fiber/epoxy composites pipe cracked during bending fatigue test. The fatigue life is far lower than that of design requirement. Carbon fiber/epoxy composites pipe was made by wrapping carbon clothes. In order to find out the failure cause, macro and micro observation and infra-red spectrum analysis were carried out. The results show that there existed delamination defect near the mounting holes, resulting in the decrease in interlayer bond strength and fatigue property of this area. The reason for the delamination defect was that there existed a high amount of powder solidified agent at this area.
