Research on Firm: A View from Economic Sociology

经济学用狭隘的理性概念来分析企业问题 ,会在很大程度上造成对企业经济生活的狭隘理解。经济社会学视野中的经济行动者虽然是以理性选择为基础的主体 ,但在他作出选择之时 ,纳入理性思考范围的因素除了经济变量之外 ,还包括其他社会性变量 ,即理性选择是嵌入于社会结构之中的。但这并不意味着对经济学理性选择方法的摒弃 ,而仅仅是使只包括少数几个经济变量的经济学模型在经济社会学研究的补充下充实起来 ,进而使经济社会学对经济学可以起到有益的修正与补充作用。

Using the narrow concept of rationality in its research of firm, economics can only understand the economic life of the firm limitedly. In economic sociology, however, economic actor is the one who makes rational choices, but before he does that, factors in his rational consideration include not only economic variables, but also social variables, which means that rational choice is embedded in social structures.But this does not mean to discard the rational choice in economics,but to enhance the economic models which usually contains only few variables with the supplement of economic sociology. In this way, economic socio logy makes helpful amendment and supplement to economic research.
