This thesis mainly explains what stress is according to the basic hypothesis of elasticity, which consists of the concept of stress, the description of the stress status at/around a certain point, along with the basic concept of hydrostatic stress tensor and deviatoric stress tensor. Meanwhile, it brings forth the necessary boundary conditions of definite solution and the stress transform methods in the effect of shaft.
