Objective:To detect the COMP content measurement in serum and joint fluid of early osteoarthritis patients and analyze its meaning compared with normal people. Methods:From Nov. 2010 to Nov. 2011, 37 early osteoarthritis patients who were treated by injecting sodium hyaluronate into the knee joint for the first time were selected(21 males and 16 females, averaged 61.70 ±4.31 years) , their blood and knee joint fluid were drawn. The comparison was done between them and 37 normal people( 12 males and 25 females, averaged 60.59 ± 3.12 years), their blood was kept when they had physical examination. The content measurement of COMP in these samples was detected with ELISA. Results:The average COMP content measurement of 37 patients was ( 5.84 ± 0.74) ng,/ml in the serum and (6.37 ± 0. 73 )ng/ml in the joint fluid. The result of control group was (4.08 ± 0.41 )ng/ml. There was statistical significance between their difference. Conclusions:The measurement of COMP content in serum and joint fluid of early osteoarthfitis patients is higher than normal people ,which shows that COMP can be an indicator in diagnosis of early osteoarthfitis.
