This paper presents an introduction to and an analysis of the surviving "Beast-headed motif" in Cave 69, and holds that the rare building ornaments in the Kizil Grottoes are "Dragon-faced motile." Quite a few dragon images also survived in the cave, suggesting that dragon culture in ancient Kucha was once very prominent. It also indicates that Cave 69 of the Kizil Grottoes was the Dragon-King Cave supported by the royal family of Kucha in the first half of the 7th century.
