Fuzzy Rhetoric in Teachers Talks and Its Pragmatic Functions

模糊修辞是利用语言的模糊性来提高表达效果的一种艺术。模糊修辞研究的对象是交际过程中的模糊言语问题。以特定语域英语课堂教学为交际情景,从模糊语用的新角度,探讨教师如何巧妙利用多种模糊手段使用英语教学语言以适应语境需要,达到提高多种语言表达效果等语用功能。

Fuzzy rhetoric is a kind of art by means of using the fuzziness of language to improve its ettect ot expres- sions. The object of its research is the fuzzy phenomenon of language used in communications. The classroom prac- tice of English language teaching and learning is a kind of communicative activity. Aiming at investigating the fuzzy rhetoric in teachers talks in the classroom sing a variety of means of fuzzy functions including 3 categories language context, this study discovers various pragmatic functions of fuzziness by u- in English teachers talks, based on which a new framework of discourse and 12 sub -categories is proposed.. Moreover, this study proposes that fuzzy rhetoric can be used as a strategy in English teaching to achieve specific communicative aims.
