豫西的剪纸艺术根扎民间,与劳动人民的生活紧紧相连,密不可分。作为民俗活动的一项重要构成,丰富的民俗文化为剪纸艺术提供了广阔、自由的创作天地。豫西的民间剪纸与当地的风俗习惯相呼应,蕴含着极其深厚的文化内涵,也成为我国传统民间剪纸文化的有机组成部分。

Paper-cut in the western region of Henan Province was rooted in folk and closely related with the life of working people. As one of the most important component of folk activities, the creativity of paper-cut originated largely from the rich folk culture. The western Henan paper-cut was in line with local folk customs and embedded with profound cultural connotation. It has become one constituent of Chinese traditional folk paper-cut.
