Africa's Current Situation and Its International Position

世纪之交，非洲政局总体上趋于稳定，经济形势有所好转。西方国家从自身战略利益出发，纷纷调整对非政策，其关注非洲的程度较之前些年明显增加。这些在客观上有助于非洲改善国际处境，提高国际地位。但非洲仍面临严峻的挑战：局部冲突不断，经济全球化大潮下的被边缘化，以及西方对非政策明显的局限性。非洲国家正通过集体努力解决自身问题，力争在国际舞台上发挥更大作用。

At the turn of the century, Africa's political situation is generally moving towards stability and economic situation has turned better. Proceeding from their own strategic interests, Western countries have been adjusting their Africa policies. They have been increasingly concerned about African affairs. These developments are conducive to the improvement of their international environment and enhancement of their international positions. However, African countries are still facing severe challenges: continuous local conflicts, marginalization by economic globalization, and obvious limitations of the policies of Western countries. Now African countries are making collective efforts to solve their problems and play a greater role on the international arena.
