The education dilemma in modern society is considered an important subject matter in modernity criticism. China Men, Maxine Hong Kingston＇s second novel, depicts humanistic education practices and the pessimistic results of three ＂teachers＂, whereby the basic conditions of the Western modern school education and educators＇ dilemma in modern social system are metaphorically presented. In view of the modeling impacts of American modern education on many nations＇ sys- tem, Kingston＇ s criticism about the dilemma of modern education involves the actual content of the criticism against globaliza- tion, which also claims the vanguard role of Chinese American culture in the innovation of American culture from a broader cultural and political perspective.
