An Analysis of the Foundation of Comparative Study on Languages under the Perspective of Mental Spaces

哲学是关于世界观和方法论的学问,是研究各种具体科学的基础。对比英汉心理空间建构的哲学基础是语言世界观。语言是一种世界观,其要义在于思维影响并决定语言,尤其是影响并决定语言结构的面貌;语言凝化思维,对思维具有反作用。本文从哲学角度出发,审视由于语言和各民族思维的不同,不同的认识世界的图像和方式以及思维本身在认知视域中的表现。

Philosophy is a science of world view and methodology, which is the foundation of concrete scientific studies. For the com- parative study on the construction of mental spaces in English and Chinese, its philosophical foundation lies in the fact that lan- guage is the world. The key idea of language being the world is that thinking influences and determines language, especially the structure of language. Moreover, language realizes thinking and plays a counteractive role in thinking. This paper explores the differences in thinking and different ways of getting to know the world from the perspective of philosophy. And the differences are explored in detail under the cognitive perspective.
