摘要
光波导极化器是相干光通信系统的一个重要器件.本文分析计算了内扩散型波导在不同介质隔离层折射率、厚度,以及不同金属覆盖层情况下 TE、TM 模的衰减特性,并提出了一种提高 TE、TM 模消光比的新方法.
Optical waveguide polarizer is an important component in coherent optical com- munication system.In this paper,we investigate the attenuation cha(?)acteristics of single- mode metal-clad indiffusion waveguides with a dielectric buffer,and present a new method for the increase of extinction between TM_0 and TE_0 modes.The analysis would find application in the design of high-differential-attenuation metal-clad polari- zers,and in other devices using metal overlays.
