从“体育”一词英语翻译的角度看体育本质

Learning the Essence of "Sport" from the Point of Its English Translation

采用文献资料及比较分析等研究方法,分析了中国体育界对体育一词的翻译主要集中在sport、physical education、training等词汇,普遍认为sport主要用于竞技体育或大众体育,physical education主要指的是学校体育,training主要是指体育训练。其中代表体育本质的词应属sport和physical education。

By using the literature material,comparative analysis and some related research methods,this paper has analyzed that China＇s sports mainly concentrate on the vocabularies such as sport,physical education,training with the translation of ＂physical culture.＂ Generally speaking,sport is mainly used for competitive sports or public sports;physical education mainly refers to school＇s physical culture,and training mainly refers to physical training;while the words of ＂sport＂ and ＂physical education＂ represent the essence of physical culture.
