On Materialistic Significance of “Southern Talk” and Its Contemporary Enlightenment

中国的改革开放已进入深水区,一方面成效显著令世人惊叹,另一方面新情况新问题层出不穷,贫富分化、贪污腐败等问题亟待解决。改革开放,搞市场经济,走中国特色社会主义道路究竟对不对?社会主义能否取代资本主义最终进入共产主义?20年前,这些争论曾一度甚嚣尘上,严重干扰了中国特色社会主义事业的前进和发展。"南方谈话"的发表,为中国特色社会主义事业指明了方向。20年后,我们重温"南方谈话",更要深刻领会其中的唯物史观意蕴,运用科学的历史观和方法论评判历史、分析现实,推动中国特色社会主义深入发展。

China's reform and open up is facing challenges.On the one hand,its achievement gains the world's praise,on the other hand,new problems arise gradually which needs to be solved.A series of disputes emerged 20 years ago which obstructed the development of China's socialist career.It was the Southern Talk that pointed out the direction for China's socialist development.Today,while retrospecting the Southern Talk,we should pay more attention to its significance,evaluate the history and analyze the reality by using scientific conception of history and methodology to push forward socialist career with Chinese characteristics.
