The problems in the development of bionic robots, the biological basis and the future of animal-motion bionics are generally reviewed, and the development opportunities as well as problems to be faced in the animal-motion bionics are discussed. At the same time, it is pointed out that the advanced environment perception technology, the multistep actuator driven by smart material, the muhi-bar compound mobile robot and its intelligent control technology, and the research on the law of animal motion will be the developing trend in the future.
