It is very important to choose starting method for the electromotor of rotating and overloading equipment in cement industry, and it is resonable to choose reduced-voltage starting method. Basic requirements of electromotor start-up and the necessity of re- duced-voltage start-up were introduced, and on that base,several reduced-voltage start-up metods and the configuration and characteristic were introduced in detail. Finally, the electromotor configuration and start-up method of all kinds of cement equipment in Saudi Arabia Yanbu 10 000 t/d clinker production line were introduced.
