摘要
以奥克斯福德(Oxford)的记忆策略划分为基础,运用词汇测试、问卷调查和访谈相结合的方法调查英语水平的差异和词汇测试题型的不同与记忆策略使用效果之间的关系,结果表明:英语水平的差异影响记忆策略的使用效果,如"语义图示法"更适合于高水平的英语学习者;不同记忆策略对不同词汇测试题型的影响也不同,如"关键词法"更适合于词性转换题型,而对于具有广泛适用性的"系统复习法"和"上下文法",根据学习者英语水平的不同,在具体使用时也需教师进行有针对性的指导。
Based on Oxford' s classification of learning strategies, this paper aims to identify the correlation between test takers' English proficiency and question types of vocabulary tests and the effectiveness of vocabulary retention strategies by applying three research methods: vocabulary test, questionnaire and interview. The study reveals that both English proficiency and question types have much to do with the effectiveness of vocabulary retention strategies. For example, "semantic mapping" works well with learn- ers of higher English proficiency, while "keyword method" is more suitable for the questions concerning transformation of part of speech. And for those strategies enjoying wide suitability, such as "reviewing well" and "context method" , instructors' guidance is also a must in order to ensure the high effectiveness for learners with different English proficiency.
