Xu Yuanzhong＇s contribution to translation lies in translation practices as well as translation theory.The paper,based on Benjamin＇s statement of pure language——the purity of God language and the impurity of human language because of prejudice,discusses the relationship between translation theories and translation practices.One piece of poem translation by Xu Yuanzhong is offered to illustrate his translation achievements,and to confirm those translator＇s influences who give consideration both to translation theories and translation practices.
