Ren Bonian is an important founder of Shanghai art styles and has made significant achievements in art,especially his portraits leaving a valuable historic and cultural heritage for future generations.A large proportion of these portraits were of the Frontier theme,reflecting the inherence and exploration that Ren Bonian endeavored towards the spirit of criticizing realism in traditional art,pursuing the essence of traditional humanistic spirit and allowing the realistic and modest aesthetic spirit in Chinese painting to continue since it was interrupted during Ming and Qing dynasty.Ren Bonian＇s artistic exploration and practice pointed the right direction of art creativity for its followers.
