《论语》里的“哲学王”及其现代意义思考

The “Philosophy King”in the analects of confucius and the reflection on its modern meaning

柏拉图《理想国》中的"哲学王"具备了勇敢、大度、聪敏、强记等品质,与《论语》中提到的古代圣人的智慧有异曲同工之妙。对于《论语》来说,所谓的"哲学王"有两个:一个是孔子;另一个是孔子所说的"君子",或称"士"、"大人"或"成人"。当所谓的"哲学王"作为一个社会人生活在这个人心浮躁、物欲横流的现代社会,会有怎样的遭遇?对此,本文提出,应在充分理解传统文化内核精华的前提下,对其加以灵活变通和扬弃,切不可固守陈规,应把经典放在现代语境中加以解读,每个人根据自身情况将其内化成为属于每个人自己的处世哲学。

＂The philosophy king＂in Plato＇s utopia is brave,generous,intelligent and firm,whose character is the same as the wisdom of the sage in The Analects of Confucius.＂The philosophy king＂in the Analects of Confucius actually refers to two kinds people.One is Confucius himself, and the other kind is called ＂gentleman＂,＂scholar＂ or ＂the greatman＂ by Confucius.But what the so-called＂philosophy king＂uill encounter if he lives in this impetuous and materialistic modem society.Based on this question,the paper suggests that Chinese classics should be interpreted in the modem context.With a full understanding of its essence,everyone should be flexible in accepting traditional culture and transform it into his own philosophy of life.
