摘要
渊源相同的不同语言之中，存在数目众多的形近义异的伪友结构。这种结构在相互之间几无联系的英语与汉语也大量存在，译者如果不加以识别，必然会误解原文，译文也就无法忠实原文。本文从从词汇、短语、句法三个层面分析英汉翻译中常见的几组伪友结构，分析两种结构之间意义有哪些不同点，并探寻源语结构在目的语中的“真友”。
False friends abound not only in language pairs sharing an origin but also in language pairs which belong to en- tirely different families, for instance, English and Chinese. Since the meanings of false friends are different despite their similar structures, translators should treat them with extra caution in order to have a thorough understand of ST. This paper aims to explain different meanings of several pairs of false friends between English and Chinese and offer tentative faithful friends in TT.
