Aiming at the effect of mould shell refractory materisals on investment casting quality, cost and productivity, the performan and characteristics of zircon sand, fused silica, kaolin, bauxite and fused corundum investment casting shell common refractory were introduced. According to the actual production process conditions, casting materials and parts precision requirements, reasonable choices of the mould shell refractory materials were described. Under the reason of ensuring the quality of castings, the cost-effective, practical and convenient refractory materials should be selected.
