Dosdoevsky＇s fiction Idiot is one of his successful works.The Duck of Meshkin exists as a complicated and very important person,who comes into being as the image of Christ-like savior.According to the concepts in Russian culture,Saint Fool is Christ-like savior and this religious culture exerts a profound influence on Russian people＇s thoughts and social culture.By describing Saint Fool——the unique Russian religious phenomenon,as the reference system,this paper analyzes the Saint Fool essence of Meshkin and probes into its function and significance.
