On Metaphors of Mood in English Business Correspondence

在论述语气隐喻理论的基础上,对英语商务信函中的语气隐喻现象进行了分析,探讨了英语商务信函中的语气隐喻现象的语用功能,指出语气隐喻在商务信函中能起到礼貌性、商讨性以及语篇衔接的作用,写信人在利用语气隐喻手段实现商务信函人际功能的同时也有助于达到其交际目的。

Based on the theory of mood metaphor,the metaphors of mood in English business letters are analyzed,pointing out that they could achieve the pragmatic functions of politeness,consultation and textual coherence so as to reach the communicative purpose of business letters via establishing an interpersonal relation between the writer and the recipient.
