＂上天、入地、下海＂,这是近半个世纪前学术界前辈提出的我国地球科学进一步发展的方向。如今,不仅卫星游弋、飞船载人,而且正在积极探月;大洋钻探、大陆钻探先后在我国实现;海底深潜如愿以偿,深海科考试验已获成功。世界海洋面积约占地球表面积的71%,是人类巨大的资源宝库。海洋不仅能提供丰富的渔业资源、矿产资源,而且海底还蕴藏着极其丰富的油气资源。据统计,海洋石油资源总量约占全世界石油资源总量的1/3。

The world ocean area accounted for about 71% of the surface of the earth, which is the great resources treasure house. The ocean can not only provide abundant fishery resources, mineral resources, but also extremely rich oil and gas resources. According to statistics, the ocean petroleum resources total accounted for 1/3 of the total amount of the world's oil resources. Today, the world's ocean petroleum industry is booming. More than 100 countries have been in offshore oil exploration, among of which, the deep sea exploration and development of oil resources has more than 50 countries. Unceasing development of deep sea technology is transmitting a message to the world, and that is: human next barrel of oil will come from seabed. The data indicate that there are 200 billion barrels of not proved oil and gas in the global deep water area, deep water is the important exploration areas of the world's oil and gas. China has more than 70 square kilometers of the deep sea remaining a 'virgin sea', its resources is about 35 billion-50 billion tons, called the second Persian Gulf. An ancient great navigator in China ZhengHe said, 'Wealth is from the sea, and danger is from the sea.' The famous American military theorist MaHan also pointed out, 'the man who control the sea would control the world.' Nowadays, people more and more clearly realize that, having the deep sea means controlling the future. The broad ocean, especially the deep sea, is undoubtedly China and the world's future energy storage. Developing the deep water, ensuring national energy security, prospects are so beautiful. Even more grandiose deep-sea action, more novel seabed finding are coming to us.
