The Metaphoric Understanding of Poetic Conception of Ancient Chinese Poems from the Perspective of Blending Theory

摘要 运用概念整合理论,分析中国古诗《锦瑟》揭示基本隐喻是如何合成复合隐喻的。由于诗歌中具体的"象"之间的互相影响及限制对"意"的影响,心理空间中的基本隐喻进行组合,完善和扩展。通过投射在层创空间中基本隐喻合成为复合隐喻,即意境。百科知识的差异导致空间中"意"的一个或多个意或者意的缺省。这些都会在跨空间映射和投射时带来组合、完善和扩展的差异。这些差异也解释了层创结构中不同的复合隐喻,即不同意境产生的原因。 By adopting the blending theory, this article attempts to reveal how the primitive metaphors are integrated to make a blended or complex conceptual metaphor through the analysis of an ancient Chinese poem "Jinse". The mental image ( or mental images), which is (are) represented by primitive metaphor(s) in the cultural context, is (are) embodied in a concrete image in the cultural context. Due to the interactive influence of the concrete images on the mental images in a poem, compo- sition is naturally followed. Completion and elaboration are carried out in the process of composing all the primitive metaphors before a blended conceptual metaphor (or poetic conception) is created in the emergent structure through projection. The differences in encyclopedic knowledge lead to the default of one or more images in the inputs, which, in turn, will cause the differences in composition, completion and elaboration in the course of cross-spatial mapping and projection. Consequently, different emergent structures are being created, hence the construction of different blended conceptual metaphors, or poetic conceptions.
