Twentieth century is traumatized century.In order to warn that such an event cannot happen again,many outstanding novelists with traumatic theme emerging in contemporary America.They try to use kinds of narrative techniques to show and represent trauma to evoke people＇s attention to traumatized groups.This paper is to comb American novels in the 20th century from the development of traumatic narrative theory,the main types of trauma narrative and the main characters of traumatic narrative to provide new theoretical basis and interpretation perspectives for readers.
